Sydney Metro City & Southwest

Sydney Metro, together with signaling and infrastructure upgrades across the existing network, will increase the capacity of train services across Sydney from about 120 an hour today, to up to 200 services an hour beyond 2024. TBMs will be used to excavate 15.5 kilometres of new twin rail tunnels between Mowbray Road, Chatswood and Bedwin Road, Marrickville. Sydney Metro City & Southwest needs five TBMs. Two will be launched and removed from the Chatswood and Marrickville dives sites, with the fifth from Barangaroo. For the TBM 1, TBM 2, TBM 3 and TBM 4, H + E Logistik GmbH supplies 4 tunnel belt conveyors, 2 overland conveyors, 2 tripper cars and 1 vertical conveyor.
